Volunteer

Make good things happen

The LIC volunteers give almost 3,000 hours per year, providing all the club activities and maintaining our clubhouse, marina— even picking up litter on our roads. You can help make good things happen.

The Events committee is always looking for help, from setting up chairs to planning parties. Click here to volunteer for events. Click here to email us about events

The Building and Grounds Committee takes care of our historic legacy. There’s grass to mow, weeds to pull and unlimited handyman chores. Contact the Chair to join the next work party, or take on a task of your own. Click here to email us about building

Our Committees

Events Committee

In the vacancy of a chairperson, this committee is made up of the individuals who have offered to lead the organization for specific events. With most events spoken for, the new Events Chair will have much less hands-on work. The position has become that of executive organizer -- making sure that each event is well planned, properly run and funded. The Board is looking for someone who could give up to eight hours per month (that includes meetings!) to fill this important role.

Marina Committee

It's not easy to run a marina with transients, member tenants, running water and varmints running under the decks. The chair, Dave Wickland, works with members of the committee to make recommendations to the board regarding governance, operations and maintenance of our valuable floating enterprise. They are almost always open to hear ideas from members and guests -- and they are 100% always ready for volunteers to help keep our dock afloat and in good repair.

Building and Grounds Committee

Lynn Carr does an outstanding job as chair of this effort, and he does it without an official committee. If the group was official, it would include many members who consider the clubhouse and grounds part of their responsibility. With spring coming, gardeners, landscapers, painters, electricians, carpenters, sweepers and cookie bakers will be called upon to clean up, fix up and brighten up our beloved historic Clubhouse, the grounds and the nature trails.
